Earl Grey Banana Bread
Being an adult means living with a routine that keeps you sane. A banana and hard boiled egg is part of that routine and without them it's like you didn't comb your hair. The downside...I tend to have ripe bananas by day Thursday. Of course, I can do all those "slow-ripening" techniques but I frequently forget so on the regular, there is banana bread in our household.
Back at it again with them tea recipes.
Earl Grey Banana Bread
Ingredients
- 1/4 cup butter
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup firmly packed light brown sugar
- 2 eggs
- 1/4 cup milk
- 2 ripe bananas, mashed
- 1 cup all-purpose flour, sifted
- 1/2 cup whole wheat flour, sifted
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon baking powder
- 3 tea bags of Twinnings Earl Grey
- 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
Directions
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees, cream together butter and sugar. Once it is smooth, add bananas and eggs. Beat until smooth.
- Add milk and beat until combined then add the flours, baking soda/powder, salt and earl grey tea leaves, and nutmeg into to the banana mixture. Stir until well combined (the longer the you stir it, the more dense it will be)
- Pour batter into loaf pan and cake for 50-60 minutes. Allow the load to cool completely
Store it tightly wrapped in plastic wrap for up to 5 days in the fridge.
